Cap City Collective Professional Cyclocross Team exists to promote the underrepresented population segment of women in professional sports, particularly cycling. While women make up roughly 51% of the U.S. population they only represent 14% of the those involved in competitive cycling and are severely underrepresented on the professional level. We see this as an opportunity to empower women, help them break common misconceptions, assist them in gaining leadership positions, grow support for female athletic aspirations and use this experience as a stepping stone for success. Most importantly, we aim to help them prove to themselves and others that women are strong, capable and worthy of having the same dreams and aspirations as their male counterparts.
